How to Attract Consumers and Convert them into Paying Customers
If you’re like most business owners, you’ll already know how much social media can really help amplify the revenue generated for a company. You’ll understand the importance of the connection between customer and business owner, you’ll understand the boom in Twitter activity, and you’ll understand how to use the realm of social media to advertise your message, sale, or brand for free.
Now let’s talk about not only how to build communities around your websites, business directory listings, and other web presences, let’s focus on what really matters to business people – making money.
How do you attract consumers and convert them into paying customers?
The first step here is to let your customers know what they need. Once they understand what they need in order to move forward toward their own goals, then you can move to the next step …
When they understand what they need and how it will solve all their problems, you need to let them know that you happen to have what they need. Now would be the proper time to explain your qualifications, background, and general expertise. Your overall pitch should somehow include why you’re the only one that has what they need.
There are unlimited ways to go about this, but it’s the idea behind it all that really matters. Three words to sum it up simply might be considered:
Before you go researching newsletter software, emailing list management companies, and so forth, step back and re-evaluate the state of people online. It’s not like it used to be – you can’t just go and send a newsletter to thousands of people and expect them all to pay attention. You’re operating a business in an environment in which consumers are constantly bombarded with advertisements, promotional sales, and other announcements that don’t necessarily have anything to do with them. To bypass this dilemma, consider what social media enables you to do – keep track of your following individually. If you think about it, social media is somewhat like a customer management center in which your customers fill out their name, interests, general demographic, and even provide you with a picture. Now, the key here is to realize that mass emails no longer work as well as they used to – you need to remind your community … repeatedly!
Again, consumers today are inundated with advertising messages, images, one-liners, and more, so in order to compete with all the distractions your customer endures, you need to remind them what you’re selling. Whether it’s at the foot over every blog post, below your email and comment signature, in prominent places on your site – what ever you decide to implement, be sure it looks professional, authentic, and thought out. The last thing you want your potential customers to think of your promotional efforts is that you’re spammy.
