4 Ways Beginners Can Reach Out to Customers

Reaching out to customers online isn’t that hard thanks to the innovative behinds behind such sites as Twitter, WordPress, and Facebook. If you’re interested in reaching out and letting consumers online know that you’re available, consider creating a presence on the following 4 sites:

1. Twitter – this is by far the hottest social networking site out there. It might be because it’s more of a networking-bookmarking hybrid, it might be because it enables users to publish at light-speed, or perhaps it’s because it’s just a fad – regardless, it’s alive and growing as you read this, so it would benefit you and your business to join up and start tweetin’. For more on this, read how to Find Customers on Twitter.

The way you reach out to customers on Twitter is through what’s called a tweet – or, an update. The more interesting your tweets, the more follows you’ll receive. Don’t worry though, you can target consumers by searching for key phrases, such as “need a plumber fast!”

2. Facebook – Consider this network the crown jewel of networks. It’s easy, friendly, and the ads are far less distracting than MySpace. In addition, Facebook enabled third party applications, which allows developers to create apps for the users of the networking software, as well as groups, pages, and feeds. Groups and pages allow you to build a community around an idea, brand, or company and feeds allow you to direct a preview, complete with links, to your profile so others can see what you’re up to. It’s best to keep it real and register your own name – as opposed to created a profile for your company – as popularly used and abused at MySpace. Facebook is about person to person networking – and with the ability to create pages, which focuses around brands and companies, there’s no need to hide behind a company profile.

The way you reach out to customers using Facebook can include any number of combinations mentioned above and more! The more involved you are in groups surrounding a specific topic, the more likely you’re bound to attract friends and consumers interested in you and what you have to offer.

3. WordPress – It helps to have a place to point the consumers you interest in checking you out. WordPress is the leading blogging software, and it’s recommended you check it out if interested in creating a website. A common misconception about blogs: they look simplistic, non-functional, and unprofessional – there has been a lot of innovation in the blogging realm since its conception. Now there are corporate, magazine, and photography styled blogs templates you can download for use, which usually includes a lot more content, dynamic elements, and more. So if you’re interested in creating a website using WordPress – it’s what we use here!

The way you reach out to customers using WordPress includes any and all plug-ins available for download, comments sections, and daily posts. Plug-ins allow you to add function to your blog, such as visitor counter, related post suggestions, SEO assist, and even contact forms, slideshow elements, and more.

4. Delicious – Though Twitter’s considered a hybrid of networking and bookmarking, it’s good to submerge yourself in the bookmarking sites – I suggest Delicious to start out. It’s simple, easy to you, and easy to manage. There are also bookmarking tools available for download to your toolbar so you don’t have to constantly revisit the site to update it. Remember, the key to good bookmarking is generosity. Share links to content you’re reading in addition to the content you’re writing. It’s kind to share links, and it also encourages others to link to you. if you’re a link-hog, people will be less likely to link to you.

The way you reach out to customers using Delivious is like collecting cool things for show and tell. Bookmark a site you think they’ll find helpful and they’ll notice you’re a viable source for exceptional content – the hope is that they’ll follow you, check out your work closely, and place you above other content creators as an authority.

Using these four sites will enable you to reach out to customers seeking information and service providers in an effective way that pays in the end!
